Helen Arco from Schwaz reports
Stories and words that don’t fall in oblivion!
The “Volkswitz” (public joke) doesn’t spare the clergy. In the past a Padre of Franciscan Convent in Schwaz was called "Tuadsintnschluka" (deadly sin swallower). This expression comes from his absolution method. When somebody came to his confessional he used to ask: “hosch eppan umbrocht, hosch eppas gstoln?" (Have you killed anybody? Have you stolen anything? If this was denied he said: “dös ondere nimm i auf mi" (I take the rest upon me) and he gave his absolution. Well, you can imagine how many people were queuing in front of Padre Virgil’s confessional.
