Parish Church "Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary" (Unbefleckte Empfängnis Marias)
The parish church with two towers in Weerberg (built from 1858 to 1872)
The parish church "Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary" towers in Weerberg and is surrounded by a churchyard. It was built in a neo-romantic basilica style. Both facing towers beside the main portal face North, in direction of the Inn Valley. These towers are characterised by a pyramidal pinnacle and are covered by beautiful ornaments and glazed bricks. Outside, the church is strengthened by counterforts, while inside it is divided in tree naves: a main nave and two lower side naves. The apse forms an external semicircle and the high altar has been maintained in the same style of the church. The inside of the whole building is painted in Nazarene and neo-romantic style. The side naves’ windows show glass paintings as stations of the Way of the Cross. |
