Tratzberg Castle

Schatzsuche One of the very few castles that has maintained its original furniture!

Tratzberg Castle

The majestic and enchanting Tratzberg Castle towers upon the slopes of the eastern foothills of Karwendel, between Jenbach and Schwaz. It is one of the few noble residences that has maintained so many original building fabrics and furniture.

The way Tartzberg Castle is presented turns every visit into an unforgettable experience. With an audio play you can hear the voices of Emperor Maximilian and the ancestors of today’s owner Goëss-Enzenberg. Mediaeval music will accompany the narrations making history come alive. Impressive points are the gothic Fuggerstube (Fuggers’ room), the queen’s room, as well as the Habsburgs’ hall with its unique mural painting showing the Habsburgers’ genealogy.

Something special: evening programs with guides dressed in historical costumes, “Schlosswirt“ restaurant with knight “board“ and many other supporting programs.

While adults are enjoying their guided tour, young visitors can discover the history of
Tratzberg Castle with an audio play in form of an exciting fairytale. They will get to know knights, emperors and other previous owners of Tratzberg Castle.

A visit at Trotzberg Castle is enriched by many entertaining programs such as the open-air trolley “Tratzberg Express“, the castle kiosk, the children’s playground, the restaurant Schlosswirt Tratzberg with garden and, last but not least, the big variety of walking tours spreading around the castle.
