 Benedictine Abbey of St. Georgenberg - Fiecht
More than thausend years ago Rathold von Aibling built the first Convent cell near to Georgenberg. In 1138 the confraternity of the Benedictine Abbey was founded. Up to our days Georgenberg is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Austria. The pilgrimage tours, which take place on the 13th day of every month (from May until October), are particularly famous. Georgenberg and the Fiecht Abbey offer you an educational program (meditation, spiritual exercises). Single spiritual exercises are possible in the Abbey and in Georgenberg too. Monks give visitors the possibility to participate in their confraternity. Also for young people!
