Contemplative calmness in the Chapels of Vomp

Vomp offers you a big variety of chapels that are worth a visit. They invite you to enter the contemplative world of pray and are at the same time precious testimonials of the past.

Kreuzbichl Chapel

Sanctified in honour of the Crying Mother of God. This chapel was build in 1705 and it has been for a long time a popular pilgrimage site due to its Piety statue. Here you can admire two statues of St. Peter and St. Magdalene. From 1987 till 1990 the roof and the external facade were totally renovated. In 1994 Irmgard Pellengahr, artist from Vomp, created a new Way of the Cross starting from Lourdes Chapel.

Lourdes Chapel

A popular shelter for people with difficulties and problems, as well as for worshipers of the Mother of God. Unfortunately the detailed history of this Chapel is still unknown. It was build at the beginning of the XX century by request of Priest Christian Raaß. As far as we know, the Safeguard Company Vomp has always been responsible for its restorations.

Veit'n Chapel

Known as Mary Snow Chapel, this monument was built in 1731. Here you can admire the statues of St. Erasmus, Stephan, Laurentius and Ulrich which were originally situated inside the Parish Church. The altar with statues of St. Notburga and St. Isidor are from the XVIII century.

Hofer Chapel

This Chapel is sanctified in honour of the 14 Holy Helpers. They are the saints: Achatius, Giles, Barbara, Blaise, Christopher, Cyriacus, Denis, Erasmus Eustachius, George, Catherine, Margaret, Pantaleon and Vitus. The Chapel was built in 1819 and was provided with the altar piece of the 14 Holy Helpers (painted by Johann Georg Höttinger in 1730). Since its last restoration in 1996 this Chapel has gained even more magnificence and splendour.
