Winter walking in Stans
A "sunny" path and a fabulous walking tour
To Stutenhof: easy walking tour (sunny). Just pass the Laurentius Church and reach the second cross-way. Cross the road and go ahead to Jenbach along the gently plashing brook and reach Stutenhof (ex farm). Walk along the avenue and turn right till you get back to the crossway.
Duration: approx. 1 hour
To Tratzberg Castle:
- the castle is closed in winter! -
Once you reach the Laurentius Church you must turn left and then another time left. After the houses there is a sign indicating the way to Tratzberg Castle. Rest stop at Schlosswirt (also in winter).
Duration: approx. 1 hour
Winter walking tour in Terfens
 Winter: "way to meditation"
After Maria Larch a so-called "contemplative path“ leads you to 5 stations. It is also accessible in winter. In Dorfkern just follow the directions to Maria Larch. In the Water Chapel beside the pilgrimage church you can take RH water at no charge
Duration approx. 1,5 hours. If you want you can take your sleigh with you!
Winter walking in the surroundings of Schwaz
Nature and bird trail and Road of the 10 chapels in the surroundings of Schwaz
Birds trail - Schwaz:
This path begins at Freundsberg castle, above Schwaz. Here you will learn 35 local birds thanks to many descriptions and images along the route. And if you are attentive enough you will find out many described birds in the nature around you.
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
Road of the 10 Chapels - Schwaz:
This route is 8 km long and a rarity for every keen hiker. The path begins at the silver mine in Schwaz and leads you along side roads and shadowy wood routes. The 10 chapels you encounter during your tour were in large part founded during the time of prosperity of the silver industry. For the miners that had to do the hardest jobs inside the mine these chapels were devotion and meditation places.
Duration: approx. 3 hours
Nature trail:
This nature trail begins at the “Pflanzengarten” (plants garden) and leads you to a round trip of 3 km back to the starting point. You'll learn a lot about local bushes, trees and similar plants.
