Kolsass

Kolsass was mentioned for the time in 1050 and is situated about 20 km in the east of Innsbruc, in the Inn Valley on the left side of the alluvial fan formed by the Weerbach stream over the millenniums.
Until the middle of the 20th century Kolsass was still very rural. Afterwards an intense building activity began in this old scattered village, so that nowadays Kolsass is characterised by a high commuter percentage. Between Kolsass
(district of Innsbruck-Country) and the neighbouring town Weer (district of Schwaz) there are intense cooperative relationships, this can be seen e.g. on the right side of the alluvial cones where you can find the conjoint elementary school of Kolsass or the conjoint secondary school of Weer.
