Walking tour with breathtaking panorama and the Karwendel
 Starting point: Weidenerhütte (chalet)
Duration: for instance Weidenerhütte – Geiseljoch 2 hours
Accessible through Weerberg in direction of Innerst.
Before Innerst, at Ried Chapel we leave the main street and turn right entering a narrow asphalt street that will take us downhill to Teglau.
From here we will reach the inn through a gravel road (parking places available). Before we get to the Weidener Hütte the path that stretches through an Alpine pasture will lead us to Nafingalm Hochleger. Here you can have a look at the lake Nafingsee. Afterwards we will follow the very helpful signs in direction of Geiseljoch (2292m). From this point we will then walk lightly uphill to Vallruckam (2132 m, restaurant).Then uphill to crossway Waxen approx. 60 hm
Uphill on a steep track (well visible).
After we have passed this well accessible path the alpine pasture route will take us back downhill to Grafensalm (1743 m). From here road 319/302 A back to starting point.
Kellerjoch Path
 A wonderful panorama is waiting for you in Kellerjoch and surroundings.
Duration: approx. 5 hours
You can choose to reach this destination on foot or by “Kellerjochbahn”.
A visit is worth it because from here you can admire all impressive surrounding mountains.
Starting point: Arbeser (mountain station Kellerjochbahn). Towards Naunzstand and further to Kellerjochhütte. A secure fixed rope route leads you to the top (other 20 minutes).
Afterwards you’ll go downhill to Gartalm and then in direction of Loassattel.
The forestall road or the old “Galtererweg” will take you back to Grafenast.
Duration: approx. 5 hours.
From here you can visit the healing herbs garden of bio hotel Grafenast. The host has much to tell you about numerous herbs, especially the ones against shyness, feet perspiration and forgetfulness. The sunny meadow of the hotel has already more than 70 different types oh healing herbs. In the summer, from June till October, there is a 14 days guided “tour” about the science of healing herbs.The little garden offers a good description of all herbs so that you can explore the species you prefer and enjoy their natural fragrance. Ancient wisdom comes to new life. Absolutely a personal enrichment. |
