Buch stretches at the feet of Kellerjoch. It is composed by 5 fractions: Buch, St. Margarethen, Maurach, Troi and Rotholz. Troi and Obertroi are situated on steep slopes above Maurach. From here you can enjoy a gorgeous panoramic view of the Inn Valley, Karwendel and Rofan mountains.

Above the village you can find abandoned tunnels and rests of the ancient silver - copper mine of Ringenwechsel.

Rotholz, the eastern fraction, is famous beyond Tyrolese borders as centre of breeding cattle market.
